07/08 Private Lesson Staff

While the directors will always be willing to help any student who asks, private lessons go above and beyond what the directors are able to provide. Through private lessons, students gain valuable one-on-one instruction from a high level musician who plays their instrument. Private lessons are not just for students who are struggling. Even the top players in the band can benefit as musicians by receiving instruction and challenges that are more on their level.

One of the greatest things about music is that the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. If financial constraints do not prevent you from enrolling in private lessons, than we strongly suggest that you give lessons a try. It will greatly enrich the quality of your child's musical experience, and, as a result, he or she will derive more enjoyment from playing his or her instrument. It's a circle in which the better the student gets, the more he or she enjoys practicing which leads to more practice, which leads to greater skills and more enjoyment. Lessons are well worth the investment of time and money. Current CSISD lesson fees range from $12-15 per weekly lesson for non-degreed teachers (mainly Aggie Symphonic Band Members) to $15-20 for teachers with a music degrees or Brazos Valley Symphony Members. Most of our private teachers fall in the $12 to $15 range.

Lessons can be taught before school, after school or during their scheduled band class. All private teachers have band facilities available for lessons and several teachers teach out of their home and some actually make house calls depending on scheduling. If you have scheduled a lesson at school, please notify the band director of the time and place to insure the building will be open.

To sign up for lessons please contact the teacher directly and set up the lessons.
